Traditional Cherokee Sash

Traditional Cherokee Sash similar to those worn by the Cherokee during ceremonial occasions prior to the Trail of Tears. It won 1st Place at 6th Annual Cherokee Homecoming Art Show, Tahlequah, Oklahoma.

The sash is currently in the art collections of the National Museum of the American Indian in Washington, D.C.

Materials: Wool, cotton calico, cotton backing and binding, glass seed beads, felt, wool yarn, brass trade beads.
